We are accepting donations for Natalie's current and future
medical expenses as well as travel expenses for mom and dad
when Natalie gets her transplant in Chicago, IL.
The insurance company does not want us to do this type of
transplant because it is not one of the top 3 transplant centers in
the United States. This is because the top 3 transplant centers
do not do this type of transplant. Our insurance company has
told us that we will be responsible for a large portion of Natalie's
bill. They want us to put Natalie on a waiting list, not only for a
small bowel transplant, but a liver transplant as well. This could
take several months and even then, she could be too sick to
receive the organs, or never get the chance to receive them.
The University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago is not a
hospital that is considered "In-Network". This is the only hospital
in the U.S. performing the living-related transplant. By doing this,
we hope to save Natalie's liver, as well as other important organs,
so she will not need multiple transplants. She needs to be no less
than 8 kg and she's already more than halfway there!
