baby story:
The Pregnancy
I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant! I took a test at home and when it was positive I had to tell
Alonzo and Briana right away that we were expecting. It was bittersweet when I told him. All you can think
about is Natalie and our experience. Alonzo told his mom later that same evening and at that moment, I
saw the expression on his face as his eyes filled with tears. I got teary eyed too, but knew in my heart that
everything would be okay. The rest of the pregnancy went great, until the end of my 7th month where I got
put on bed-rest for high amniotic fluid.

The Labor
Well, I went into premature labor on March 28th, Alonzo's 27th birthday. We arrived at the hospital at
11:30pm. When I arrived, I was 3 centimeters dilated and my bag of water was bulging. At that moment, I
knew my water would break and we've been having a baby soon! Well, this little guy decided to wait for 2
more weeks! I was sent home and a week later at 36 weeks, my doctor decided to induce labor on April
12, 2007. We arrived at the hospital at 9am and started the process to induce. Well, within 5-10 minutes
after that was started, I had severe contractions and my doctor noticed the baby was getting stressed, as
his heart rate started to drop. It was then that my doctor decided to do a cesarean delivery, instead of
waiting and later having to do an emergency c-section. I went into the operating room at 11am and at
11:36am, our little boy was born. He came out screaming and peeing on my doctor and the nurses. That's
my boy!
The Name
We wanted our son to have his own first name, but use his dad's as a middle name. So, we chose Isaac
Alonzo Morales. The name Isaac means "to laugh". We'll see if he holds up to that!
Our Baby
Isaac is such a beautiful baby boy! He has brought nothing but joy into our home since we brought him
home. We are very sleep deprived right now but he is totally worth it. Briana loves him so much and she
can't wait for him to start talking!
